Per cent for art commission | Westport Town, County Mayo

Mayo County Council invite artists to submit proposals for a public art commission in Westport, County Mayo. This commission is a unique opportunity for a professional artist(s) to collaborate with the local community of Tubber Hill, Westport on a public art project. Proposals are welcome from both individuals and collaborative artistic teams.

This commission is part of Mayo County Council’s Public Art Programme, funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the Per Cent for Art Scheme.

The budget is €35,000.

This is one-stage application process. if a clear choice cannot be made from the stage one submissions a limited number of artists may be invited to attend an interview and make a presentation to the panel. An honorarium will be paid to each shortlisted artist.

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
