Due to the completion of the N76 Callan Road Realignment Scheme, Kilkenny County Council is pleased to invite artists to submit applications for a public art commission under the Per Cent for Art Scheme.

While there is no prescribed subject or theme for the commission, artists are encouraged to respond to or engage with the culture, built or natural heritage of Kilkenny City and County. Artists are requested to outline any relevant process of research, development or community engagement in their proposal. The brief does not specify the materials to be used, but the artwork is intended to be permanent and of high quality. Therefore should be made of durable materials which require minimum maintenance.

Budget: The total budget available for the artwork is up to €45,000 (inclusive of VAT).

This is a single-stage commission process. Applicants are requested to read the full content of the briefing document carefully as it contains important information pertaining to the commission.
