Per cent for art commission | Naas library and cultural centre

Kildare County Council are redeveloping the historic Naas town hall into a new Naas Library and cultural centre for the people of Naas and beyond. The Council wishes to engage a visual artist on a commission to mark this milestone development and invites expressions of interest from artists.

The commission is for a permanent artwork any visual art media and included digital media and may include collaborative work practice. The theme for the commission is Lifelong Learning. A number of potential sites have been identified and applications may consider the buildings and grounds, indoor and outdoor.

Budget

The budget is €38,000

Applications must be made through Kildare County Council's online website

Brief

This is a two-stage open competition. Artists who are shortlisted to stage two will receive a fee of €300 on submission. For further details and to make an application see Kildare County Council website

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
