Connolly Hospital on 9 November

An Introduction to Arts and Health, a one-day national workshop, will take place at Connolly Hospital, Dublin on Friday 9 November 2018. This day-long programme, featuring presentations by some of the leading figures working in arts and health in Ireland, is for healthcare professionals, arts practitioners and anyone interested in learning more about this exciting field. 

An Introduction to Arts and Health is organised by www.artsandhealth.ie(managed by Waterford Healing Arts Trust) and is supported by Connolly Hospital.

This practical workshop will introduce participants to some of the practicalities of arts and health work: the principles of good practice, the importance of a partnership approach and how to set up an arts and health project. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the benefits and challenges of working in this field, and to view the art collection at Connolly Hospital.

Guest speakers sharing their extensive experience will include Mary Grehan, Arts in Health Curator with the Children’s Hospital Group, and Claire Meaney, Acting Arts Director of Waterford Healing Arts Trust.

The fee for the full day, including lunch and a copy of “An Introduction to Arts & Health: 10 Things to Consider” by Mary Grehan, is €25.

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
