Per cent for art commission | N22, County Cork

Cork County Council and TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland), under the Per Cent for Art Scheme invite submissions from professional artist(s) or artist collectives in any artform or combination of artform for two public art commissions valued at €30,000 each as part of the N22 Baile Bhuirne – Macroom Road Development.

The N22 Baile Bhuirne – Macroom Road Development includes the construction of 22km of dual carriageway which will be primarily constructed offline of the existing N22. The commissioners welcome ambitious and innovative proposals that have the capacity to connect with communities in the physical, social, environmental, cultural and historical contexts of the Baile Bhuirne to Macroom area.

Budget

Total budget for the commission is €30,000 for each commission, inclusive of artists’ fees and expenses, project realisation, documentation and VAT.

Site visit

There will be an in-person site visit on Wednesday 12 October 2022. Artists must register in advance by emailing arts@corkcoco.ie as there is limited capacity.

Brief

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
