Symposium on Singing Health and Wellbeing

'Sing Yourself Better: the Effects of Singing in a Choir on Health and Wellbeing' Dr Hilary Moss, University of Limerick. 

This is the largest international study of its kind to date and will be the focus of the Symposium. We have a great line up of musical and medical experts and a special performance by Melodies and Memories, a choir that welcomes older members of the community, especially those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia.

Speakers will include Sophie Lee, a PhD student in the research team of Dr Hilary Moss, Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at University of Limerick.

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
