Public art commission | Mary Ann McCracken and Winifred Carney sculptures, Belfast

Belfast City Council invite expressions of interest from an artist or consortium of artists to design, fabricate and install high-quality permanent figurative sculptures of Winifred Carney and Mary Ann McCracken in the grounds of Belfast City Hall.

Mary Ann McCracken was an abolitionist, social reformer and activist who fought for the rights of women and championed Belfast’s poor, and Winifred Carney was a suffragist, trade unionist and Irish independence activist.

Budget

The budget is £150,000 to include all costs.

12 noon, Friday 11 November 2022.

Brief

This is a two-stage selection and assessment process. A set fee for shortlisted artists for the maquette will be payable on receipt of a complete tender submission. For further details see https://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/cityhallstatues

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
