Per cent for art commission | Scoil an Athar Tadhg, Co. Cork

Scoil an Athar Tadhg in Cork wish to commission artist(s) to submit proposals for a piece (or complimentary pieces) of visual art to reflect the character and ethos of the school. The school’s Per Cent Art committee have chosen the following quote from An t-Uachtarán, Michael D. Higgins to provide the inspiration for the to-be commissioned piece(s) of visual art.

'Wherever you go around the world, you can say, I come from a place where we honour poets.'

The commission is funded under the Per Cent for Art scheme, funded by the Department of Education and Skills.

Total budget for the commission is €47,000, including all artist expenses and VAT.

Brief

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
