Job opportunity: Creative Producer for Sarah Browne / In Context 4 public art commission

Work with visual artist Sarah Browne in developing a trio of live, site-specific performances. These performances will be delivered in a fitness class format in South Dublin leisure centres, exploring new ideas of public health in post-austerity Ireland.

The schedule of work will be developed and agreed between the appointed producer, Sarah Browne, project curators & SDCC, beginning November 2018, to conclude with a month-long run of public performances in November 2019: experience with dance / theatre production an advantage. The schedule will take account of key public moments and press deadlines within the In Context programme. The main areas of responsibility for the Producer are: Programming, Co-ordination, Governance and Finance. 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the artist in building the creative team for the project (performers & designers)

• Co-ordinate with agents to manage availability of performers

• Develop audience strategy & ticketing system in liaison with Sarah Browne, curators & SDCC

• Ensure project participants have the neccessary garda clearance to work with child participants, or other necessary training, in liaison with leisure centre venues

• Oversee financial aspects of project

• Be present in rehearsals at agreed times and feed back on the work in development

This project is commissioned by IN CONTEXT 4 – IN OUR TIME, South Dublin County Council’s Public Art Programme 2016-2019 under the Per Cent for Art scheme, and curated by Claire Power & Aoife Tunney.

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
