Open Call: Artists in residence opportunities, Wexford and Wales

Wexford County Council, under the Per Cent for Art Scheme and Pembrokeshire County Council Wales, invite submissions for two artists in residence to work in Wexford and Wales on the theme of ‘Exploring a Shared Past’ as part of ‘Ancient Connections’ an EU funded cross-border arts, heritage and tourism project linking North Wexford with North Pembrokeshire.

Each artists can work in any artform or combination of artforms i.e. visual art, film, writing, theatre, music, sound, traditional arts and each residency must involve a public artistic output at the end. The focus of each residency is on the creation of new and original artwork and must involve place-based research ,engagement with other stakeholders within ‘Exploring a Shared Past’ and meaningful collaboration with local communities of place or interest This artist in residence programme is being awarded under a two-stage open competition.

Value

Each artist residency is valued at €22,000 in total to include artist’s fees, materials, and final public art outcomes.

Duration

Each residency will run from May 2020–April 2022.

Nazareth Housing Association provides independent living houses for individuals and couples who are 65 and over and on the Sligo County Council housing list.  Nazareth Village is comprised of 48 houses in a garden setting.  The Village was financed as a public-private partnership between Nazareth Housing Association and Sligo County Council with funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
