Context/Background | Commissioned under Kerry County Council's Percent for Art Programme and managed by Ruairí Ó'Cuív, curator. Mill Fest was one of the first rock music Per Cent for Art initiatives in Ireland where 27 students from Milltown Presentation Secondary School, ranging in age from 12 to 17 years, and three professional musicians collaborated to produce a CD after an intensive eight-day song-writing session. The musicians were Peter Baxter and Chris Teusner, specialist music facilitators with Songschool, and Iain Archer, solo artist formerly with the band Snow Patrol. |
